Boomers Have New Food Kit Choices – What’s for Dinner, It’s Changing

Boomers are getting many new choices for dinner. Even though 2020 has negatively affected so many parts of our lives, if we look at food options there are some positive changes reshaping a bit of our future in a very good way.  We must eat every day and while this has not changed, new menu options and how we can get our food is changing. What's for dinner now has more options, a helpful change for 2020.

New Food Options – With Benefits

Food Kits is a fresh new food alternative with a wide range of great new dinner menu selections.  These are fully premeasured, all prepackaged, and delivered to your door.

How meal options changed during #BoomersLives.

The first major change to what’s for dinner took over 30 years as frozen foods finally found their footing in the 1950s.  Over the '60s and '70s, frozen dinners and specialty frozen foods targeted a variety of demographic groups.  Demand and growth for frozen prepared foods and meals exploded. For better or as others may suggest worse, options of what's for dinner changed for us all during this time.

Food Kits are the newest significant change to the what’s for dinner. As a nitch market, these Kits began to get more widespread attention about 5 years ago.  In the US, the Food Kit market size has increased from about $1.5 billion in 2016 and is projected to hit $11.6 billion in 2022.

Good for Us All

But why does this matter to Boomers, and what are the upsides of these Kits for us?

As a '60 Vintage Boomer, some of the same old favorite meals that I've enjoyed for decades have lost a bit of their luster.  My much better Vintage '65 wife feels a bit the same.  These new Kits have not only added a much wider variety of dinner choices, but my wife is excited about cooking again too!

We've been eating a couple of Kits a week for over a year.  We've tried them from local supermarkets and national distributors.   What I've learned is that the bigger the selection is definitely better.  While we try our best to support local, the national distributors present a wide rotation that allows you to identify some regulars while continually trying new meals.  These Kits are a huge win for us both.

#BoomerNutrition and our needs have changed. You can order online and have them delivered to your door; the convenience is wonderful during these times of COVID concern. My wife likes the fact that she's cooking but with quite specific instructions, with pictures.  All of the ingredients are pre-measured, with nutritional information included.  A win win win.

So, with all of the disruption this year, my wife and I definitely rank these new Food Kits as a win for 2020.  #HealthyBoomers looking for good meal options that help manage serving size include healthy food options and new food combinations should give #BoomersFoodKits a try.
